"La brizna de hierba viajera" (The traveling blade of grass) invites viewers into a world where the aesthetic strategies of ruins serve as a lens through which domestic subjects are rendered within an ecological narrative. The animation features a nonextant 1930's catalog home where the artist previously resided for the past decade. Using photogrammetry, Tonies creates a virtual model of the home, then, through the lens of physics and material simulations, translates it into overgrown ruins activated by atmosphere pressure, a breeze.
